We’re always counting down to fashion week, waiting with baited breath to swoon over the latest fashion, hair and makeup trends that we can adopt into our own styling. And New York fashion week S/S19 did not let us down… From the minimal ponytails at Oscar de la Renta to messy updo’s adorned with flowers at Rodarte, here are our latest hair and makeup obsessions from NYFW SS19.
Oscar de la Renta
We’re kind of in love with everything about these looks; minimal, simple and super chic. Styled by Moroccanoil artistic director Kevin Hughes, the models at Oscar de la Renta had sharp middle partings and low ponytails, with a piece of hair used to hide the bobble. Paired with the natural makeup we can definitely see this look on a stylish bride.
Marc Jacobs
More hair and makeup looks that would work perfectly for a wedding… Over at the dreamy Marc Jacobs show models were styled with soft pastel coloured hair, styled in neat updos and 1960’s egg-shaped bouffants. The makeup was super minimal and light (sticking to the pastel colours of course), perfect for anyone who isn’t used to wearing a lot of makeup.
Ulla Johnson
No messy fly-away hairs here! At Ulla Johnson models had slicked back, shiny hair styled in chunky knots and low ponytails. An ideal look for a party or wedding, this style is modern and would definitely hold up all day/night (even for the craziest of dancing queens).
Tom Ford
The king of modern and chic did not disappoint. The models at Tom Ford had stunning natural makeup; nude lips with a darker statement eye in keeping with the natural tones. We can see this look walking down the aisle as well as down the runway.
Rodarte
We have saved the best for last, our favourite from NYFW, our new biggest obsession… Rodarte. Floating down the runway were stunning fros, waves and messy updo’s, all adorned with the most gorgeous fresh flowers. Anyone who knows us, knows that we are big fans of fresh flowers being worked into hairstyles! We are seriously obsessed with these Marie Antoinette rose garden vibes.
